A 49-year-old man is dead after his snowmobile hit into a barbed-wire fence around 6 p.m. Saturday southwest of Leduc.
RCMP investigators say the man was testing out his sled, following maintenance, on a rural property near the Glen Park District when he drove into the fence in the dark.
The man is said to be an experienced rider and was wearing a helmet at the time.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Police are not releasing the man’s name.
