Three crosswalks in Old Strathcona have been painted the colours of the rainbow by the City, ahead of Edmonton’s Pride Parade.

Officials said the crosswalks were painted along the route for Saturday’s Pride parade – designed to show support and bring awareness to the Pride Festival.

“People are very enthusiastic, people are very excited to see a lot of colour in the Whyte Avenue area,” Yvonne Pronovost with the City of Edmonton said.

The festival will kick off Saturday morning, with the parade kicking off at 11 a.m. along Whyte Avenue – the rest of the festival will take place at End of Steel Park.
