On Sunday September 21 shortly after 6 p.m. emergency crews were called to a two vehicle collision on the QEII Highway just north of Innisfail. Police say a green sedan lost control while making a lane change and struck another vehicle before striking a cable barrier. No major injuries were reported, although there were two children inside the green sedan who were treated for minor injuries.

The 28 year-old female driver from Calgary was charged under the Traffic Safety Act and was issued a 30 day license suspension for the presence of alcohol. Another passenger in the vehicle was also taken into police custody on an unrelated matter. North and south bound traffic was reduced to a single lane for one hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.
