The province will kick off its annual influenza immunization campaign on Monday.

Influenza clinics will begin offering immunizations to all Albertans six months and older.

According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), influenza has not yet arrived in the province but they encourage residents to get protected.

AHS said over 1,200 Albertans were hospitalized and 30 died last season due to the illness.

The flu shot and FluMist will be available.
