Officials with ALERT said the arrest of a suspected drug dealer prompted the seizure of drugs and a handgun last week.
Two homes near Winterburn Road were searched by ALERT investigators, with help from Stony Plain RCMP and members of the Edmonton Police Service on July 10, 2017.
Inside one of the homes, investigators seized a .25-calibre handgun, in addition to a cocaine press, cash and 500 grams of cocaine, 50 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), 92 grams of methamphetamine, and 2.6 kilograms of marijuana.
The seized drugs have an approximate street value of $87,700.
As a result, Hugo Lacelle, 24, is facing charges of: possession of proceeds of crime, trafficking a controlled substance, careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
