Red Deer RCMP said the incident occurred March 2, in the Kentwood neighbourhood between 3 and 3:30 p.m.

Police said a 7-year-old girl was walking north on Keast Way, across from a church, when an male standing outside of his vehicle asked her where she lived, and asked her to get in his car so he could drive her home.

According to reports, the suspect didn’t touch the girl, or try to force her into the car, and the girl screamed and ran away.

The man reportedly drove away in his vehicle, northbound on Keast Way.

The suspect is described as:

  • Dark complexion
  • Average to slim build
  • Between 20 and 30-years-old
  • Less than 183 cm (6’) tall
  • Short brown hair, shaved on one side and combed over from right to left

The suspect was reportedly wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up, under a black jacket and blue jeans, and he spoke with an accent.

The vehicle the suspect was driving is described as a newer, white, compact four-door car with silver trim on the headlights and grill.

Police are investigating, and are working with the victim on a composite sketch of the suspect.
