Police in Jasper said an 18-year-old man had been arrested, after he allegedly threatened people in a parking lot with an axe.

Back on July 9, 2017 at about 3:30 p.m. RCMP officers were called to the Maligne Lake parking lot, where reports indicated an intoxicated male suspect was threatening people with an axe, and smashing car windows.

When they arrived on the scene, officers learned a bystander had managed to take the axe away from the suspect, and a number of people had detained him.

He was arrested without incident.

On Friday, RCMP said Quinten Delaney Campbell, 18, of Rycroft, Alberta has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, mischief under $5,000 and two counts of uttering threats to cause death.
