The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) is turning to the public in hopes of finding a stolen locket containing the ashes of a baby boy who passed away at birth in 2011.

At about 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22 police responded to a break-and-enter call at a southeast Edmonton home where it was discovered the only missing item was a jewelry box – in it, a necklace with a heart-shaped pendant containing the remains of the homeowners late son.

Police officials say the break-in occurred after 11 a.m. on Friday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
