Slave Lake RCMP are investigating after finding the body of a dead woman in the Lesser Slave River Saturday night.

Mounties said a citizen contacted police at approximately 8 p.m. after discovering the body in the river east of Slave Lake.

Investigators believe the body may be 21-year-old Nicole Brendan Robar, who was reported missing to Spruce Grove RCMP on August 1. Robar was also reported to have been in Slave Lake on July 10, police said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday to determine the cause of death and identity.

Slave Lake RCMP is asking anyone who was in contact with Nicole Robar since July 8 to contact them at 780-849-3045. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
