A newly-married couple is looking for help finding their missing wedding photos, after their photographer lost the memory cards containing images of their special day.

“To me, the memories are just, you can’t replace that, you can’t ever re-enact that,” Erika Lajoie said.

Lajoie told CTV News she was devastated to learn the memory cards that contained hundreds of her wedding day photos were lost.

“I just sat there, just kind of held my head in my hands,” Lajoie said.

The bride said her photographer travelled from their wedding venue in Sherwood Park Saturday, to Whitecourt, then headed to Fort Assiniboine for other photography sessions on Sunday.

Lajoie said the photographer noticed the photos were missing on Sunday night.

“Just knowing that I won’t get to see any of those, it sucks, it sucks bigtime,” Lajoie said. “We’ll have some, but the family shots, those are irreplaceable.”

Lajoie posted about the incident in Facebook, in the hopes that someone might see the clear, D-shaped case the cards were in.

Meanwhile, Lajoie and the couple’s friends and family are taking matters into their own hands, scouring open fields in Whitecourt for any trace of the missing case.
