A candlelight vigil was held Sunday night for three young men who died in a weekend collision.

A large crowd gathered around 8 p.m. at the skateboard park in Beaumont. The crowd paid their respects to three friends who lost their lives Saturday morning in a suspected drunk driving collision involving two vehicles.

RCMP said the collision happened on Highway 625 just before 3 a.m. A Dodge Ram and a Pontiac Grand Am were both travelling eastbound when they collided.

Brad Arsenault, 18, Kole Novak, 18 and Thaddeus Lake, 22 all died on the scene.

Karmia Novak lost a brother and a boyfriend in the crash.

"In this case, these were the three greatest boys ever. They impacted who I am so much so that I'm only a sliver of a person left because they've taken so much away with them," she said.

The 28-year-old driver of the other vehicles remains in hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Police believe speed and alcohol were both factors in the collision.
