RCMP said a man in his 40s was in custody, following the weekend death of a man in Maskwacis.
On December 11, Maskwacis RCMP were called to a home following an altercation.
Officers arrived to find Neil Omeasoo, 55, dead and they arrested Colin Reed, 45, on the scene.
RCMP Major Crimes South carried out an investigation and charged Reed with manslaughter.
Reed remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in a Wetaskiwin courtroom on Tuesday.
