Edmonton police said Friday that two men had been charged in connection to the February, 2015 killing of a man in his 20s.

On Sunday, February 22, at about 3:30 a.m. officers were called to the area of 102 Street and 107 Avenue where they found two men suffering from stab wounds.

Officers were then called to an apartment about a block away, in the area of 103 Street and 106 Avenue, where they discovered Deng Tong, 23, who was suffering from stab wounds.

Paramedics transported Tong to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators said it’s believed the two incidents were related.

On Friday, police said Billy Joe Nelson, 37, and Tyler Strathdee, 27, were both charged with first degree murder, three counts of attempted murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

The two accused are expected to appear in court April 20.
