Edmonton police said Friday that the autopsy following a suspicious death Thursday had been completed, and charges had been laid.

EPS said the Edmonton Medical Examiner had conducted an autopsy Friday, and determined Brandon Campbell, 21, died of a gunshot wound.

Just before 1 a.m. Thursday, officers were called to a condo building in the area of 105 Street and 155 Avenue – they found the male victim dead inside one of the suites.

At first, officers were told three suspects were responsible for the shooting and had fled the scene.

Later on, EPS said a friend of the victim had been arrested – and said it’s believed three people were playing with a firearm in the suite when it fired.

As a result, Dallas Edlund, 19, was charged with manslaughter using a firearm, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm and knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm.

The EPS Homicide Section continues to investigate – police said this is Edmonton’s 15th homicide of 2015.
