Edmonton police said a man in his 40s had been charged in connection to the theft and destruction of plaques from pedestals in the Griesbach community in July.

Back on Tuesday, July 25, reports that 17 memorial plaques were stolen from pedestals in the Greisbach neighbourhood. EPS said due to media coverage, investigators were contacted the next day by a local scrap metal dealer after staff at the facility recognized the plaques.

Then, on Tuesday, August 8, EPS arrested Romelo Joseph Woolf, 45. He has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and fraud under $5,000.
