The man charged in the highway deaths of four Filipino workers was expected to be in a Red Deer courtroom Monday morning – but his case has been held over.

Tyler James Stevens is facing a number of charges including four counts of dangerous driving causing death.

The charges are in relation to a crash on March 5th, 2012. An SUV, allegedly being driven by Stevens, was heading the wrong direction on the QE-2 near Innisfail when it struck a van carrying five Filipino workers.

On Monday, Stevens reserved his election – so his court case has been held over until September 10 in a Red Deer courtroom.

Stevens was released on $20,000 bail.
