A Canada – United States border crossing was closed for several hours Friday, after border officials received a suspicious package.
RCMP said the package was delivered to the Canada Border Services Agency at Coutts, Alberta at about 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
CBSA officials called the RCMP, who closed the border crossing as a precaution at about 1 p.m.
Lisa White with the CBSA told CTV News the RCMP bomb squad was called in.
Hours after the border was closed; investigators determined the package didn’t contain explosive material.
The border was re-opened at about 6 p.m.
White said the RCMP are still investigating.
