A crash involving a one-tonne truck and two semis caused major delays for drivers on Highway 60 Tuesday.

Police say a semi travelling west on Highway 16A took the northbound exit ramp onto Highway 60, but when it could not make the curve, it left the road crossing over the northbound lane and hit a one-tonne truck and another semi travelling southbound on Highway 60.

The male driver of the truck and a male driver of one of the semis were airlifted to an Edmonton hospital in serious condition.

A male passenger in the truck and the other semi operator were taken to hospital in Edmonton via ground ambulance.

RCMP say the road had to be closed for several hours while officers investigated.
