Edmonton police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run between a vehicle and a bicycle at approximately 2 a.m. in north Edmonton.

Officers responded to a collision in the area of 111 Avenue and 96 Street after a dark-coloured vehicle hit a cyclist at the intersection. Police were told the vehicle fled eastbound on 111 Avenue.

EMS transported a 38-year-old man to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later, police said.
