Edmonton police said Tuesday that a weekend death of a man who was found in a park had been determined to be a homicide.

On Sunday, the body of a man was found in a green space in the area of 162 Avenue and 103 Street.

An autopsy was conducted Monday, and determined Benedicto George, 25, died as a result of being shot.

His death has been determined to be Edmonton’s tenth homicide of the year.

Homicide Unit investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious or unusual activity in the area, early Sunday, March 26 to call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
