Edmonton police said Thursday that the death of a woman, whose body was found in a shed in west Edmonton in June, had been confirmed to be a homicide.

Back on Wednesday, June 4, at about 1:45 p.m. the body of a woman was found in a storage shed behind a business in the area of 174 Street and Stony Plain Road.

Police said an autopsy was conducted on June 5, but results were undetermined pending results from a toxicology test.

Now, police said Freda Goodrunning, 35, died as a result of blunt force trauma – her death was confirmed to be homicide after the toxicology results came in.

The EPS Homicide Section is investigating, and said this case was Edmonton’s 12th homicide of 2014.
