Police west of Edmonton said the deaths of three people inside a rural home are not the result of a murder-suicide.

Edson RCMP said officers went to a home east of the community Sunday afternoon – when police arrived, they found three people dead inside.

Officers said all three displayed signs of trauma – and said two adults, a male and a female, and a teenaged female were pronounced dead. All three lived at the home; no one else was injured or missing.

CTV News has learned the deceased are Danny Miller Senior, Roxanne Berube, and a 13-year-old girl.

“I can’t tell you their relationships right now other than they were known to reside within that home,” Insp. Gibson Glavin said Monday.

Neighbours said the residents had been renting the home, and mainly kept to themselves.

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating.

"No arrests have been made in this investigation, but we are exploring lines of inquiry that will lead us to a focus soon, I can tell you we are pursuing this as a homicide investigation," Glavin said Monday.

Later Monday, RCMP advised the public to be “cautious of people or circumstances possibly connected to this event”, and to contact police with any information that could help investigators.

“We do urge people to be cautious, to be aware of circumstances that lead people to believe a person has some knowledge or connection with this homicide investigation, to not approach anybody, to call the RCMP or Crime Stoppers,” Glavin said.

Any information can be passed on to Edson RCMP by calling 780-723-8800 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
