The much-anticipated comic book movie Deadpool is opening this weekend, but we’re learning an Edmonton boy saw the film a few weeks ago with the star of the movie himself.

Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds took to Facebook and posted a photo of himself with Edmonton’s Connor McGrath, who’s battling cancer.

In the post, Reynolds said he travelled to Edmonton six weeks ago to show Connor the new movie at the hospital.

“He was also the first person ever to see the Deadpool film,” said Reynolds on Facebook.

He went on to say that “Deadpool was right up his alley because Connor's the funniest, potty-mouthed Canadian mercenary” he’s ever met.

Reynolds said he donated to help Connor’s battle with cancer and encouraged others to do the same.

“I know lots of celebrities jump up and down touting a cause and maybe I'm no different. But holy frozen shit-slivers, I love this kid. He's the greatest.”
