The collaboration of a number of Lethbridge-area police officers on a drug trafficking case in that city has led to the arrest of two men from the Edmonton-area men, who are facing a number of drug-trafficking related charges.

Officers working with ALERT’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU – Lethbridge), executed search warrants at two separate locations on Jan. 16.

In the first incident, officers arrested a man and a woman, after police pulled over a vehicle that day – CFSEU-Lethbridge members searched the vehicle, where officers found about 10 grams of cocaine.

CFSEU-Lethbridge then searched a home – where they found about 150 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $17,000, 48 grams of marijuana and $15,610 in cash.

As a result, Edmonton residents Kevin Pacheco and Dain Lewis, both 24, are facing two counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of possession of the proceeds of crime.

The woman arrested during the vehicle stop was released without charges.
