Edmonton police said Monday that investigators working to track down a specialized tricycle were turning to the public for help.
Police said the yellow Terra Trike went missing at some point between 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23 and 4 p.m. Sunday – from a neighbourhood located near 91 Street and 166 Avenue.
EPS said the trike belonged to a young boy with cerebral palsy – it was given to the boy by The Bear radio station. The trike had been specially constructed for him.
“The Trike was a project that The Bear radio station had constructed for the young man...and includes a gearing system from the United Kingdom,” Cst. Paul Middleton said in a press release.
“The Trike is worth over $5,000 and is the only means of mobility for the youth outside his residence.”
Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
