ASIRT said Thursday that EPS had been cleared of wrongdoing in connection to a fatal collision on Manning Drive in mid-March, 2016.

Back on March 13, 2016, just before 5:30 a.m., an EPS officer saw a vehicle speeding on 82 Street, and started to follow that vehicle as it turned onto residential streets.

At one point, ASIRT said the officer had to take evasive action to avoid a crash, and the officer was directed to stop searching for it.

Less than a minute later, the suspect vehicle was involved in a three-vehicle crash on 50 Street and Manning Drive, killing two of the passengers and seriously injuring one other.

ASIRT was charged with investigating the crash, and the investigation ruled the officer did not cause or contribute to the deaths or injuries suffered in this case.
