Edmonton police are investigating after a collision in the city’s southwest left a man in his 20s in hospital in serious condition.

Police said Southwest Division officers were called to the collision at about 2 a.m. Thursday, on Calgary Trail north of Whitemud Drive.

When police arrived, they found an injured male lying on the ground in the middle of the road.

The 23-year-old male was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital. At last word, he was still in hospital in serious condition.

EPS said the driver of the vehicle left the scene of the crash, and could have fled westbound down the 106 Street exit ramp.

Investigators hope to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information on the driver or vehicle involved.
