Edmonton police are investigating, after a number of businesses reported their windows had been smashed.

EPS said a number of businesses on 99 Street between Ellerslie Road and Argyll Road reported their windows had been broken on Friday.

It’s believed the incidents took place in the early morning and evening of Thursday, while some are believed to have taken place overnight.

“One business has 28 large windows that were all shot out with either a pellet gun or air rifle,” Staff Sgt. Warren Driechel with Southeast Divison said in a press release. “This random act of vandalism is not acceptable in our city.”

EPS said other mischief complaints over smashed car windows and bus shelters had also been reported in the Ottewell and Capilano areas this week.

A suspect has not been identified, police said, and the incidents are all under investigation.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
