Edmonton police said the investigation into the disappearance of a woman in her mid-20s has been handed over to the Missing Persons Unit.

Police said Louise Veillard, 26, was last seen Friday, May 2 near the McKernan/Belgravia LRT station.

Officers have conducted a search that included scouring the North Saskatchewan River, and searching parts of the city by air, however, those efforts have yielded no results.

“We took over the file from Southwest Division Monday morning, after patrol officers had exhausted their efforts during a lengthy search over the weekend,” Sgt. Neil Zurawell with the EPS Missing Persons Unit said. “We share the community’s concern, and will continue to conduct our investigation.”

Officials said part of the continuing investigation will include monitoring Veillard's personal accounts.

Police are asking anyone with information on Veillard’s whereabouts ti call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
