In an early morning break-in, an ATM was stolen from an Edmonton corner store – and it appears a piece of heavy machinery was used to break into the store.

Police were called to Sherbrooke Grocery, located on 127 Street and 121 Avenue, just after 3 a.m.

Surveillance video shows a track hoe being used to rip a hole through the outside wall of the business, before the ATM was pulled out and the suspects fled with it.

Police said it’s believed the track hoe used in the robbery was stolen from a construction site near the business.

Investigators put out the call for witnesses Tuesday, asking anyone who may have witnessed the break-in, or saw a track hoe being driven in the area of the store early in the morning to call the Edmonton Police Service non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 on a mobile phone.
