It's a rude awakening for drivers in Edmonton and right across the country.
The price of gas jumped, Wednesday morning, by at least eight cents. Most local stations are now showing a price of just under 1.19 cents per litre.
"It's unreasonable. We go broke, it's crazy!" said local motorist Brodi Jones.
Drivers in Toronto are paying 1.40 cents per litre and some experts believe the price will climb yet again before the long weekend begins.
"It's ridiculous!" said Edmontonian Adam Cusiac. "I gotta get to work."
