Grande Prairie RCMP are asking for assistance finding two missing 15-year-olds.

Police say they have reason to believe Daryn Middleton and Shawn Viens may be together.

Middleton was last seen on January 16 leaving for school. His mother notified police after she found out he had not arrived at work that afternoon.

He is described as Caucasian, six feet, 150 pounds with black hair and blue eyes.

As well, police are looking for Shawn Viens who has been missing since January 19.

His family told police the young man ran away after a family dispute and has not returned and they are concerned for his safety.

Viens has been described as Caucasian, 5’6, 160 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, red hat, blue and black pants and red and black high top shoes.

“No indications that anything suspicious has happened right now but we are concerned about locating these kids and making sure that they’re safe and trying to get them back in touch with their parents,” Cpl. Roy Kennedy told CTV News.

He said it was a stressful time for the teens’ parents and police were doing all they could.

“A lot of time and resources are going into trying to locate these young people.”

Cpl. Kennedy emphasized that the kids were not in trouble.

“Our primary concern is to make sure that they are safe and we try and get them back in touch with their family.”

If anyone has information on either of the youths they are asked to contact the Grande Prairie detachment, 780-830-5700 or Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-8477.
