Police in central Alberta said a Red Deer couple was facing additional charges, and a home and property had been seized, stemming from an investigation that led to four facing charges in April.

RCMP said officers seized a home, vehicles and other property, and arrested a Red Deer couple Wednesday, in the latest development stemming from an extensive criminal investigation.

Police said $900,000 worth of property, including a house and two vehicles, were seized as proceeds of crime – a Jeep, a truck, electronics worth about $17,000 and about $55,000 worth of furniture were all seized.

Back on April 20, Red Deer RCMP said three men and a woman were facing drug-related charges, after three homes in Red Deer were searched – investigators seized more than 18 pounds of marijuana, a kilogram of cocaine, more than 200 OxyContin pills, significant quantities of other drugs and more than $37,000 cash.

These latest developments stemmed from those searches – one of the homes, located at 87 Towers Close in Red Deer, was the house seized by police.

In that original case, Clay Crombie, 21, Cody James Crombie, 18, Katherine Estelle Howe, 20, and Matthew Rose, 31, all faced six counts each of possession for the purpose of trafficking. All but Cody Crombie faced additional weapons and stolen property charges.

On Wednesday, RCMP said Howe and Rose were facing additional charges of fraud and laundering, and possession of stolen property charges. The couple was arrested without incident at the home that was seized.
