Two people are in hospital, one with life-threatening injuries, after a collision on Hwy 2 in Bowden, Alta. Saturday.
Police were called to the scene shortly after noon.
According to witnesses, a blue SUV traveling southbound sideswiped a transport truck heading in the same direction. The SUV lost control and rolled several times before stopping at the median cable barrier.
The 50-year-old driver was transported by STARS to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. A passenger was transported to hospital by ground with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Southbound lanes of the highway were closed for one hour while crews investigated.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision.
Bowden is located near Innisfail, and is about 105 kilometres north of Calgary.
The investigation continues.
