An extensive investigation is taking place into the bizarre collision that led to the arrest of 5 naked people.

Leduc RCMP said the incident began around 9:30 a.m. Monday morning when an adult male and female as well as a new born baby were apparently forced into a vehicle against their will. The three managed to escape and were picked up by a passerby.

A co-owner from LPH Industrial told CTV that his employee, who doesn’t want to be identified, picked up a man, woman, and her new born baby. The adults claimed they had escaped from a white BMW.

“Apparently they came out of the ditch with no shoes on” said Derek Scott, the owner of the company, who believes his workers vehicle was targeted after he offered the three a ride.

Shortly after being picked up Scott said they were struck by a BMW full of naked people.

RCMP said they arrested five people at the scene of the collision, they have confirmed that three adults remain in police custody pending judicial interim releases. Charges are pending against them for kidnapping and resisting arrest.

Two of the subjects arrested were youth and have been released with no charges.

RCMP believes this was a targeted incident and that all parties were known to each other.

The investigation is ongoing.
