Edmonton police said Thursday that the investigation into the shooting death of a man in his 30s in January, 2014, had ended – the man found to be responsible was killed in late March.

Police said Thursday that Homicide detectives had determined London Williams, 21, was responsible for the death of Ibrahim Yousef Chehimi, 34.

Chehimi was found dead after officers were called to reports of shots fired on Tuesday, January 21 after 2:20 a.m. in a parking lot at 112 Street and 104 Avenue.

In addition to Chehimi, a 28-year-old male was found with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the arm.

However, London Williams was found dead on Monday, March 24 in the County of Smoky Lake. EPS have taken over the investigation into Williams’ death, and said a suspect has been identified in his killing.

A connection between Williams and Chehimi was found by police in April, 2014.
