Three new Edmonton restaurants have been highlighted in Air Canada’s in-flight magazine, making their list of the top ten new restaurants in Canada.

“They came, they sent a photographer, she took a bunch of pictures and we thought it was for something completely different,” Chef Graham Hafermehl, at Café Linnea said.

The restaurant opened more than a year ago in the Queen Mary neighbourhood – and it made it to the #6 spot on the list of Canada’s top ten new restaurants in enRoute magazine.

“It’s a huge honour, I mean there are lots of great restaurants all across the country,” Hafermehl said.

“To be picked out of the thousands, it’s really special.”

Two restaurants on Jasper Avenue were also recognized: Clementine at #5, and the Alder Room rounded out the whole list at #10.

The owner of the Alder Room told CTV News making the list was a surprise, as he thought the restaurant opened too recently to be considered.

As for Café Linnea, the chef believes making a list like this one will go a long way for the new business.

“I think part of their goal, obviously, is to let people know there are good places out there, but I think it is to help promote new businesses and really help them get started."
