As crews work to clean up after K-Days, tearing down rides and picking up litter on the fairgrounds – officials have released numbers for this year’s fair, and fewer Edmontonians passed through the gates than the year before.

Northlands officials said 740,840 festival-goers headed to K-Days, between July 18 and 27.

Those numbers are lower than 2013 attendance, when 781,743 people headed to the event.

“We didn’t have a significant decline in attendance this year, however we did have one day that was a little bit of a washout,” Jennifer Sheehan, with Northlands, said Monday. “The rain really poured down that day.”

Those who attended this year’s event enjoyed 47 new and returned rides, 36 fair foods ranging from poutine to scorpion pizza.

In addition, The Village People, Our Lady Peace, and Marianas Trench played the stage at the fair, and country music star Tim McGraw performed at Rexall Place.
