Consumer Watch Reporter
Laura Lowe grew up in Essex County, the most southern part of Canada, in the town of Amherstburg, ON. Essex County has more than two dozen vineyards, grows the best peaches in Canada, and is surrounded by water on three sides.
Laura came to CTV Edmonton from CTV Winnipeg where she was the political reporter. Prior to that Laura was a reporter for CTV 2 Ottawa where she often filed national stories from Parliament Hill. She also reported for CTV 2 in Windsor, ON and KCAU, an ABC affiliate in Sioux City, Iowa.
In 2004, Laura earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In 2009, Wayne State’s Journalism Faculty named Laura “Alumna of the Year.” She has also been honoured by Service Alberta as a Consumer Champion for an in-depth investigative series that aired in 2012.
Laura loves saving cash and doesn’t like getting ripped off so she says it feels great to help others keep their money in their wallets through her job as Consumer Watch reporter.
Outside of work, Laura loves cooking, traveling, and spending time in Edmonton’s River Valley.
In 2009, Laura walked 60 kilometres to help beat breast cancer.
