An Edmonton woman wearing a San Jose Sharks jersey says she was assaulted by Edmonton Oilers fans outside a bar on Jasper Avenue Thursday night.

Paulina Wojtowicz watched the game with friends at Urban Tavern. After the game, Wojtowicz went to wait for a cab when she was approached by a couple.

Wojtowicz told CTV News they started razing her about supporting the visiting team. According to Wojtowicz, the situation escalated and she was punched in the face.

Wojtowicz posted pictures to her Instagram, and her sister-in-law shared them on her Facebook. Wojtowicz said she received support from fans of other teams, and even Oilers who are disappointed about the alleged incident.

Edmonton police are investigating.
