A construction project on the QEII and Gaetz Avenue interchange is now underway to improve traffic flow and safety on the corridor by the fall of 2018.

As part of an $80 million investment from the Alberta Jobs Plan, three bridge structures will be replaced by five new bridge structures, and the highway and intersections will be improved.

The Gaetz Avenue southbound bridge will be closed in late September for the duration of the project. Traffic will be rerouted to 19 Street and Highway 2A (Taylor Drive) to access the QEII southbound.

“Alberta Transportation thanks motorists for their patience and consideration for the safety of construction workers while work continues on this important infrastructure improvement on the QEII corridor. Please observe all posted signage and speed limits and use caution when driving through construction zones.”
