The man accused of killing a 14-year-old teen from Edson, Alta. is heading to trial this spring.

Ross Edward Kleman of Edson is accused of killing Emily Stauffer and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder back in December of 2008.

Stauffer was found slain in her hometown on Sept. 27, 2008 on a walking path not far from her home.

Kleman's lawyer appeared in Edson court Tuesday afternoon and waived the preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for the end of May. Kleman will now go straight to trial in late April.

The accused was arrested two months after Stauffer's death.
