RCMP said Thursday that a man had been taken into custody, after its alleged he climbed a fence onto the Edmonton International Airport airfield.

Police in Leduc said the initial report stated a man had climbed the fence on the south west side of the airfield at about 1:20 p.m., before exiting under the fence on the south side of the airfield.

Officers quickly responded, and with help from RCMP Police Dog Services, apprehended the man.

According to RCMP, no one was hurt in the incident, and there was no impact on flights.

The investigation is ongoing.
