The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) has arrested a man suspected of selling drugs through an online classifieds website.

After receiving a tip from the public, officers executed a search warrant at a Tamarack home in Edmonton’s southeast on July 9. There, they found $16,000 worth of drugs including hashish, marihuana, MDMA, cocaine and prescription pills.

Police said they also found evidence to suggest the man was using online ads to sell the drugs.

Emails released by investigators show responses to ads allegedly posted by the suspect. One person writes ‘Hey bud, hows it goin? got a def. case of the mondays! lookin for a ½. im south of the city, but am mobile and coming to the city. Lemme know if we can meet, and I can shoot you a number. thanks.’

Trevor Conrod, 33, was arrested and is facing 17 drug-related charges including three counts of trafficking. Conrod was released on bail.

This is the first time ALERT has investigated online drug sales.
