Man charged in connection with pharmacy robberies

An Edmonton man is facing charges in connection with two robberies at pharmacies in southwest Edmonton.

The first robbery happened on June 25, 2014 at supper hour. A man in a disguise was spotted in a pharmacy in the area of 178^th street and 98A avenue. He allegedly produced a weapon and told the staff to hand over narcotics before fleeing the scene.

It is believed that the same suspect was responsible for a robbery that occurred at approximately 10:45 on the morning of August 20^th. A man entered a pharmacy at 170^th street and 69^th avenue, where he allegedly showed a weapon and demanded narcotics at the pharmacy counter. The staff handed over the narcotics, and the suspect fled the scene in a waiting vehicle.

Lowen Diehl, 30, was later arrested, and faces a variety of robbery and weapons related charges.
