A 57-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a truck just after 11:00 p.m. Friday in Wetaskiwin County.

The RCMP says the man was dressed in dark clothing at the time and was in the middle of Township Road 460.

The truck that struck the man was heading eastbound towards Highway 2A.

Police say the driver and passenger were shaken up but not hurt.

Alcohol and speed were not factors in the collision, but investigators say heavy rain and wind could have reduced visibility.

The incident is under investigation.
