Edmonton police have identified the man killed in the city’s west end late Monday evening.

Police said investigators had finished notifying the victim’s next-of-kin, and identified the deceased as Arthur Barry McCaskie, 55.

An autopsy was completed Tuesday afternoon – where the Medical Examiner confirmed the death was a homicide, and McCaskie died as a result of blood loss from a stab wound.

Edmonton police were called to the area of 160 Street and Stony Plain Road at about 11:30 p.m. Monday over an alleged altercation, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A short time later, officers apprehended the second male believed to have been involved in the incident after he had fled the scene.

Detectives have charged Joshua Letendre, 28, with second degree murder, the charge was laid Tuesday.
