RCMP are investigating after a man died of a gunshot wound in Lac La Biche early Saturday morning.

Police received a weapons complaint at approximately 4:30 a.m. in the area of 104 Street and 102 Avenue. Upon arrival, RCMP found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

Michael Mountain, 26, succumbed to his injury at the hospital.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.

RCMP Major Crimes is now investigating this death.

“Our investigators would also like to hear from anyone in the area who may have had surveillance cameras recording around the time of the incident,” RCMP Corporal Curtis Peters said. “Those cameras may have captured evidence that could help with the investigation.”
