The body of a missing boater was recovered from Sylvan Lake Saturday morning.

Crews found the body of the 43-year-old man at 9:30 a.m., six days after his boat overturned near Sunbreaker Cove.

The man went boating with two other adults and a 10-year-old child on August 13 just after 4:00 p.m. Shortly after, a storm hit the lake, the boat overturned and all occupants fell from the boat. The three survivors were able to stay with the boat thanks to their personal flotation devices, and eventually swam to shore. They last saw the now deceased man in the water and believed he was injured.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Sylvan Lake RCMP sends their condolences to the family.
