A day after a high-risk sexual offender was released from prison; police said a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Ashton Natomagan, 33, was released Monday, March 2 after serving a 61 month sentence at the Grande Cache Institution for sexual assault causing bodily harm.

Natomagan was the subject of a warning to the public issued late in the morning on Wednesday. March 4, but police said later that same day that he had failed to return to his halfway house on Tuesday.

As a result, a Canada-wide warrant has been issued for Natomagan for parole violations.

He’s considered by police to be a sexual offender who poses a risk of significant harm to the community.

Police said Natomagan is considered dangerous, and should not be approached – if he’s seen, call police.

Natomagan is described as:

  • 180 cm (5’11”)
  • 88 kg (194 lbs)
  • Brown eyes
  • Black hair
